# Lesson Plan: Cultural Diversity ## Grade Level: 2nd Grade ## Subject: Social Studies ## Duration: 60 minutes ### Objective: - Students will understand the concept of cultural diversity. - Students will learn about different cultures and appreciate the diversity in their classroom and the world. - Students will recognize similarities and differences between cultures. ### Materials: - Storybook: "It's a Small World" by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Encourage them to share their thoughts. - Read the storybook "It's a Small World" to the class. Emphasize parts that talk about different cultures and traditions. - Show them the world map or globe and point out where some of the cultures mentioned in the book are located. #### Guided Activity (15 minutes) 2. **Class Discussion**: - Discuss what cultural diversity means.
